Crawl out through the fallout as a champion
Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition is a classic 2D strategy and turn-based game developed and published by Team17 Digital Ltd. The wacky, zany, and insane gun-toting worms return with a bang as you crawl, aim, and (hopefully) shoot down your enemies and even friends as you fight to be the best worm that ever was.
Inspired by games such as Final Fantasy VII and DOOM, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition returns not with a whisper but with an explosive bang after its debut 25 years ago. Relive the madness, fun, action, and crude humor as you fight your way through an army of worms.
This place ain’t big enough for the two of us
In Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition, you get to play with a small squad of worms as you fight the opposing squad of worms in a quest to become the champion or just for fun. With 4k HD support and Xbox Live cross-gen multiplayer, players are sure to find exciting ways to meet and fight other players in this chaotic, jampacked turn-based game.
Enjoy destroying your enemies with 55 classic weapons such as the French Sheep Strike, play single-player deathmatch with a 40+ mission campaign, and experiment with game modes such as Handicapping, Worms Disease, and more. Now supporting local multiplayer of up to six friends, players can enjoy the game without worrying about their progress as the game offers cloud save support as well as having a War Stories interactive timeline.
Although the anniversary edition of the classic title has been fitted with many improvements mentioned above, it still suffers from new and old problems. For one, the menus are still old-fashioned, and single-player difficulty spikes can make the game extremely challenging to deal with. It also reels from the initial fiddly controls that plagued the original classic title, and it lacks official crossplay support as well.
Jib and jab with guns and crude humor
Despite the game being 25 years old at this point, Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition is still a timeless classic for veterans and an exciting game to try for new players. With issues from the past and new improvements of modern technology, the game is certainly worth trying regardless of age and experience, which is sure to delight both fans of the classic era and the modern era of the games.
